Tube Feeding Complications

If you have any problems related to your HEN, you should call your doctor, nurse or dietitian. If it is an emergency, you should go directly to the emergency room. Please do not contact the BC HEN Program; we do not have the clinical staff to provide assistance.

The Oley Foundation website provides a helpful HEN Troubleshooting Guide that contains information on:

• Nausea/Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Tube Obstruction/Blockage
• Tube Displacement
• Skin/Site Irritation and/or Tube Leakage
• Aspiration
• Constipation
• GI Bleeding
• Pump or Power Failure
