What's New

Dear BC Home Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Program,

Thank you for arranging the excellent group of speakers at the last Vancouver Oley meeting on October 9, 2013.

The presentation by Dr. Bhim Odedra on CVC insertions gave me a better understanding of what happens in the operating room. With this understanding I know I will be better prepared for my next line insertion.

The information presented on how and why Occlusions occur by Ms. Jocelyn Hill reinforced how important flushing and CVC line care are to good patient outcomes.

The talk by Ms. Janice Muir on Pain Management was all new information for me and helped me understand how the pain system works. The resources provided (i.e. internet websites and names of local organizations) will be very useful for dealing with future pain issues.

Once again I am amazed that after twenty years on HPN I was able to learn so much from a two hour meeting. I know this added information will help me maintain my current good health and I hope more consumers will engage in these fun and educational meetings.
